Remember you are on holidays, not on assignment!

I used to stress myself on holidays that I needed to get a good shot. That I should be out taking photographs when the light is good. Until I realised this was crazy.

I have come to realise that I don't make money from my photography, I don't have clients and  am not answerable to anybody. It might seem obvious, but somehow I overlooked it.

It's okay sometimes to enjoy the moment and not take photographs.
It's not always about technical perfection. A poor shot of a moment in time is better than no shot at all, especially of family and people you care about.

Sure if you can get a few moments to yourself early in the morning or late in the evening to take photographs, go for it. Just remember you are on holidays and not on assignment!
